Lummi Te'Ti'Sen Center

The Lummi Te'Ti'Sen Center falls under the Economic Development Strategy of the Lummi Ventures Strategic Plan. (link to Ventures website). The Lummi Gateway Center is asingle story building built on 3.78 acres of prime real estate. This land has been converted from fee simple land to trust status as of 2009. This land was then allocated by the Lummi Indian Business Council via resolution for specific use by the Lummi Gateway Project. The building itself has been constructed to LEED Silver Certification.

The Lummi Te'Ti'Sen Center’s specific purpose is to promote prosperity for the community through tribal enterprise. This is an opportunity for a hand up, not a hand out. The Lummi Te'Ti'Sen Center will be a stepping stone for small business development with the intent of business owners to “grow into and then out of” the Lummi Te'Ti'Sen Center and branch out on their own after receiving the intensive support services that their business needs to thrive.

The LNSO (Lummi Nation Service Organization), Ventures, and Lummi Te'Ti'Sen Center staff offer educational opportunities in professional development from basic skills to advanced business concepts.

Lummi Ventures Partnership is a 10-year asset investment agreement between LIBC (Lummi Indian Business Council) and NWAF (Northwest Area Foundation) to increase Lummi Nation’s ability to address the root causes of poverty in their community – and to promote prosperity and provide opportunities for prosperity – cultural and economic – for individuals and families.

To date, at year 6 of 10, Lummi Nation has already leveraged the $6M fund from NWAF with over $10M investment and long term assets.

The Ventures Program, is a Fiscally Sponsored program of Lummi Nation Service Organization (LNSO), a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, formed in 2001. We are an organization of invested community members working to increase community assets and build self-sufficiency. We do this by taking a holistic approach to empowering our people with positive opportunity, being inclusive of all our people of the Lummi community, and cultivating philanthropic resources as tools to strengthen our Nation.
